What exactly is a Financial Goal?
A Financial Goal is nothing but a target to aim for while managing your money. It is set to achieve over a defined period of time. When you have a clear picture of what you’re aiming for, working towards your target is easy.

Write goals do not type them:
The first step towards goal settings is to write your goals, I mean to write only, do not keep a soft copy of your goals. Writing registers an idea in your brain which can be remembered for a long time so do write your goals. The likelihood of achieving the written goals is more than the typed ones.
Benefits of writing your Goals:
- More likely to be achieved
- Clear roadmap, mindset & understanding
- Not cluttered but a clear mind
Your Goals should be SMART:
S- Specific– What do you want to do?
M- Measurable– How will you know that you have reached your goal?
A- Attainable– Is it possible for you to achieve your goal?
R- Relevant– Is it relevant to what you’re doing currently?
T- Time-Based– When exactly you want to achieve it?
After having a deep thought, I was able to define a SMART goal for myself:
“Start a YouTube channel in Jan 2021 named Twisted Diaries and upload at least 66 videos by May 2021 and have a subscriber base of 10K till may end. And start earning $1000 in monthly income by end of May 2021.”
Once you write your SMART goal, you will have clarity of thoughts and a clear vision to follow. I urge you to take some time and write your own SMART goal and you can thank yourself later.

If you are starting a career in Digital marketing, then it’s very important to know the market stats well. Every entrepreneur should learn market economics and make decisions based on it. Here, I will give you a brief idea about market conditions so you understand the scope of Digital Marketing in India.
- India has seen a sharp increase in internet users, only next to China with 743 million users, which gives more scope for digital marketers to reach the target audience.
- India has the advantage of demographic dividend(more young population), therefore more economic demand and growth. Also, India’s average age population is 27 years and it is said that as the average age goes up the economy sees a boom.
- Debt creates money. More young people means a greater demand for goods and services. They will take loans from the banks which will be returned with higher interest rates, this in return will create money in the economy and growth.
- The value of the digital marketing industry in India will exceed the INR 225 billion mark by 2020.
These are some stats that show the big opportunities that lie ahead of us in Digital Marketing. You can use these stats as a sense of motivation and start working towards your goal as defined earlier.

There’s One Right Way:
There is no right or wrong way of marketing. It is the result of a combination of factors like customer understanding, timing, high-quality product, creativity, etc.
Marketing and Advertising are the same:
Although, both are related they are not the same. Marketing is the ongoing, end-to-end plan that spans the entire process your business should follow to provide products or services to consumers. This includes designing and pricing the product, deciding where it will be sold and how to persuade people to buy it.
Advertising, on the other hand, is one aspect of your marketing plan. It’s focused on creating and placing ads to spread the word about the amazing products or services you have to offer.
Everyone is your Customer:
Do not focus on persuading all customers, rather focus on spending your limited resources on your target audience, the people who need, want, and are most likely to buy your products.
You don’t need a marketing plan:
No matter how great your product or service is, it won’t sell itself. You’re going to need a solid marketing plan that outlines all the tools and tactics you’ll use to win and keep customers and achieve your sales goals.

The four P’s of Marketing:(I would rather say the Five P’s)
In the late 20th century, marketing players developed the concept of the Marketing Mix, a set of concepts and tools that help companies achieve their objectives within a market. At the core of this model are the four Ps(the most important P that is People was not included by them):
People– This phase actually begins by understanding who is your target audience and what is their requirement. And therefore, the first P is People which is the most important pillar. Without understanding your customer requirement you may create a great product but no one will purchase it.
Product- After understanding your target audience and their requirement, you should create your product that fits their needs. Spend your time creating a quality product.
Price- To determine the product cost you will need to do some research, analyze your competitors’ products, their pricing, and how much customers are willing to pay.
Promote- Nowadays, there are many options available to promote your product, you need to decide the best for you. Example print ads, radio, social media, etc.
Place- Now that your product is ready and promoted, you need to decide the marketplace to sell it. It can be online or offline or both. You also need to decide on inventory.
Now, let us discuss the basic Marketing Fundamentals:
Know Your Target Audience:
You need to be smart about who you target is and the way in which you spend your money and resources. The key is to target only the best, most profitable segments.
You can’t be everything to everyone, so don’t try. Strive to be really great for a small segment of the market, and make sure it’s the right segment that will have the biggest ROI.
Educate on your Benefits:
Now that you have narrowed your audience, you can educate the focused group of people with the benefits you offer, the features that your product provides, and why they should buy your product. It is easy to communicate with a relatively smaller group and to understand their pain points.
Have a Strong Call to Action:
After identifying your customers and educating them about the benefits, you need to have a call-to-action step. In this, you need your potential customer to take a call-to-action which means they have to either enter an email id, fix a telephonic call, or it could be a direct sale. Be clear about your expectations and decide on a call-to-action pre-hand.
Measure, Monitor, and learn:
The final step is the measure, monitor, learn, and improve on it.

The ability to communicate effectively is essential, no matter what industry you work in. Developing your communication skills can help you in all aspects of your life, from your professional life to your personal life and everything in between.
Marketing simply is refined and focused communication. If you can communicate your ideas, thoughts, and intentions well, then the customer can find a reason to believe you and trust you.
It’s not about the sophisticated use of English words because that is necessary while writing an essay or a thesis but not in marketing.
Here, the basic idea is to communicate my message or transfer my thoughts as clearly as possible and in simple words, as I am doing right now and you can easily get what I am saying.
One key tip here to you is, to write as you talk( that comes naturally to you when you talk to your friend).
Do not try to start a conversation rather join the one that your audience is already having in their minds. For this, you need to understand your audience well, know their pain points, and address them. If you master this, you will be a great writer.
Few Tips To Improve your communication and writing in English:
- Write daily at least 500 words on any topic. Take feedback, improve on it. The more you write the better you became. Be consistent in your writing.
- While having a conversation with self, try to think and talk in English.
- Read more books, magazines, and blogs.
- Listen to podcasts, watch stand-up comedy shows.
- Do not unnecessarily use jargon or heavy vocabulary only because you like them.
- Good listening skills can also help communicate better. Be open to listening and understanding the other person’s point of view, rather than simply getting your message across.
Traditional vs Digital Marketing:
Digital Marketing is the same as Traditional Marketing, only the medium of communication has changed.
Traditional Marketing is an offline mode of marketing and one of the oldest. The mediums include radio, television, newspaper, billboard, hoardings, etc. These are still in use but in addition to digital mediums. Traditional mediums have their own advantage like it has a wider audience reach at low cost.
As the world becomes more digital, the form of marketing has also evolved.
Digital Marketing is an online mode of marketing through emails, social media platforms, PPC ads, etc. The difference is, these digital platforms can be highly customized to reach your targeted audience precisely. It is the best medium to reach an affluent English-speaking community.
Which one is better?
It is an endless debate about which one is better. Both have their own pros and cons. However, to sum up, the main difference between the two is about the medium.
The traditional mediums can be used in combination with digital to complement each other. Traditional Marketing is more useful when the product is generic like a cell phone. However, there is no interaction with the customer in this method.
Digital Marketing offers us more personalized targeting and you can also measure the performance of your campaign. It also reduces a lot of manual work by replacing it with highly automated processes.
So, in the end, you have to decide which style is suited for your product. Do deep research and choose your strategy.
The Future of Digital Marketing:
Many of the newbie digital marketers may be worried about the future scope of Digital Marketing, so to answer that doubt of yours I will need to again define Digital marketing.
Digital- The medium of communication and Marketing- Focused Communication.
Marketing is rooted in Human Psychology and its understanding, so it will remain as long as humanity exists.
The medium of communication may change but the fundamentals of marketing will remain the same. In current times, Digital marketing is becoming more popular as many more people are getting connected to the internet.
We, previously, also saw the statistics for the Indian market and the growth in the number of internet users. So considering the fact that India is going to see a boom in the economy as the average of the country goes up and more people will have access to the internet and more people will use the digital medium, it’s absolutely imperative that those interested in digital marketing should start now.
CATT Marketing Funnel:
As you see in the diagram above, the CATT Marketing Funnel consists of 5 main components and we will discuss them each one by one. But before that let us know what is exactly is a Marketing Funnel.
Marketing Funnel is a step-by-step process of converting your potential prospect(visitor) into a customer. I learned about it through Deepak sir’s DDIP program.
Now let us discuss the process step by step:
The basic marketing strategy you need to keep in mind is the CATT Framework, where

In the above formula, “n” refers to your Niche.
A niche is nothing but your area of interest or your group of the target audience. For example, Digital Marketing or cooking are examples of niche.
Choosing the right niche at the beginning is very important as you can see in the formula that your wealth creation & success depends on the niche that you select. You can read more on a few tips to find less competitive blogging niches.
Let us now see how do you select a perfect Niche.
The Niche you select should be a combination of these three factors. That is you should be passionate about the skill, have the required talent, and also there should be a market for your skill/talent. If anyone is lacking then it is difficult to sustain long term.
Also the niche you select should be narrowed down to sub-niche. What do I mean by this? Let me explain…
Now, let us understand that Digital Marketing or Cooking both are very broad niches, that is, Digital Marketing can have many sub-niches in it like SEO, social media marketing, email marketing, etc. Similarly, cooking also includes various sub-niches like veg or non-veg, Indian cuisine, or Chinese cuisine, etc.
So, we as a beginner make this mistake of selecting a broad niche like Digital Marketing. It has very high competition because older players have already created content on it and therefore they have acquired more authority over the internet. So as a beginner it is best to narrow down your niche. For example, my focus area is content marketing inside Digital Marketing. So, what is yours?
After you have selected your niche, you need to create quality content around your niche that provides value to the target group. This is the most important and the widest part of your funnel so focus on delivering valuable content.
Your visitors will start building trust in you if you solve their problems. so deliver consistently through various mediums like a blog post, social media post, email, e-books, webinars, etc.
Once you have your content ready, you can now focus on getting more traffic to your website or landing page using SEO, Social media, Paid ads(FB or Google ads), etc. And since, there is so much content online, you have to get creative ways to draw your customers’ attention. Do not immediately pitch for a sale at this step.
Building trust is the most difficult part of the whole process. Building trust with your potential customers will push them to take further steps that will generate sales for you. So, again, remember to provide consistent value to your customers through your content, engage with them regularly through personalized emails, and retargeting them with your ad campaigns.
If you were able to follow all the above steps correctly then this becomes very easy. At this stage, your prospect(potential customer) turns into a buyer because you provided that value, gave the necessary attention, and built trust over time. Therefore, they are more likely to purchase from you and it’s, therefore, called a Natural Sale.
Now, let us discuss Integrated Digital marketing and its importance in your success.

So, What is Integrated Digital Marketing?
It is basically integration(as the name suggests) of all the marketing strategies in such a way that one compliments the other. In fact, the CATT funnel and Integrated Digital Marketing(IDM) go hand in hand. The IDM is used to execute the CATT funnel in order to get the desired results.
What is the need for it?
The use of a single marketing strategy, for instance, paid ads may have its own benefits but to scale your benefits to a larger extent you need to integrate other methods also so that you increase your sale.
How does it work?
Content is the leader in this model and others are the team members. You can use methods like SEO, paid ads, social media platforms to drive potential customers to your content rather than directly pitching your product.
Once your prospect engages with your content, other marketing techniques can be used. You can ask your prospect to sign up for any free material like a newsletter in return for an email id. This is nothing but Email Marketing.
After having an email id, you can nurture your prospect with regular, valuable, quality content .i.e Content Marketing. This will develop trust with your prospect and once that trust is developed, you can pitch your product. The product will sell naturally at this stage since we have applied both the above model we discussed. This is nothing but Sell and Conversion.
So, you see, how the two models work hand in hand.
